About this glossary

Anyone responsible for a website who has to work with people from a different discipline. A marketer reading an engineering ticket, an engineer reading a content brief, or a founder trying to work out whether an agency is describing something real.

Because a definition on its own rarely helps you decide anything. The definition tells you what a word means; the note tells you whether you should care about it this week.

Every one is a term used elsewhere on this site. If we say it in our own copy, it gets defined here. That keeps the list honest rather than padded for search.

Yes, and corrections are more welcome than additions. If a definition here is wrong or misleading, tell us and we will change it.

A term missing, or a definition you disagree with?

Tell us and we will fix it. This exists to be useful rather than complete, and an argument about a definition is usually more useful than the definition.

Every term here is one we use elsewhere on this site.
